QuickStart Program FAQs
Who is eligible to participate in the QuickStart Program?
Eligible participants include Connecticut-based manufacturers and allied service providers with a manufacturing facility. Companies must have between 3 and 500 employees in Connecticut.
What are the costs associated with the program?
The program provides a free four-week additive manufacturing (AM) printer loan. The only cost to participants is for materials, which we’ll help you select during the consultation to ensure you’re prepared for a successful experience.
What type of equipment is available for loan?
Our program includes access to a range of high-quality additive manufacturing printers suited to various production needs. During the initial consultation, we’ll review available equipment to find the best match for your project goals.
How long does the loan period last?
The standard loan period is four weeks. This allows sufficient time for setup, training, testing, and evaluation.
What kind of support will I receive during the loan period?
Participants receive personalized support from a dedicated additive manufacturing engineer. This includes setup assistance, training, troubleshooting, and ongoing consultation throughout the four-week loan period.
How does scheduling work? What if equipment is not available?
Scheduling is based on equipment availability and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to limited equipment, there may be a wait time before your loan period can begin. We’ll keep you informed about availability and work with you to secure the earliest possible start date.
What happens after the loan period ends?
At the end of the four-week loan, we’ll assess the impact of the technology on your operations. If you’re interested in adopting AM equipment long-term, we can guide you through grant options and other support available to reduce onboarding costs.
