Workshop Details (12:30-3 pm)
This hands-on workshop will explore how real-time data can drive corrective actions during CNC machining to improve production outcomes. Principal Engineer Nasir Mannan, along with CCAT technical experts Chris Miller and Ryan Matthiessen, will lead a live demonstration focused on reducing scrap rates and optimizing manufacturing processes.
In our previous workshop, we examined Model-Based Definition (MBD) for automated CNC programming and optimization. Now, we’ll take the next step by integrating the Siemens Edge Device with the TRAK VMC10si 4-axis CNC machine, showcasing:
- Predictive modeling for smarter decision-making
- Tool degradation analysis to improve equipment longevity
- Real-time corrective action implementation to reduce waste and enhance quality
Technology partners include: TRAK, Siemens, and the University of Connecticut.
