Join us at the Advanced Technology Center for an exclusive in-person demonstration showcasing how Model-Based Definition (MBD) transforms CNC programming. This kickoff workshop in the CT SMARTE Series highlights how MBD streamlines processes, cuts production time, and enhances CNC program quality.
Location
CCAT Advanced Technology Center
409 Silver Lane, East Hartford, CT
Details
Principal Engineer Nasir Mannan and our technical team will demonstrate advanced strategies in Siemens NX CAM for generating CNC programs tailored to specific feature tolerances. You’ll learn how to post these programs for a Sinumerik control and utilize tools like the ThirdWave Production Module to reduce cutting force spikes and optimize cycle times.
We’ll showcase a comparative analysis of dimensional inspection results between a conventionally programmed and machined airfoil versus one produced through a model-based workflow. This will highlight differences in programming time and part quality, culminating in a live demonstration on the TRAK VMC10si 4-axis CNC machine.
This event provides a comprehensive overview of advanced CNC machining strategies, cutting-edge tools, and technologies to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality. Attendees will experience live demonstrations and practical insights into optimizing their processes.
There will be a break for complimentary lunch and networking.
SMARTE Workshops
Join us for upcoming SMARTE Workshops on April 16, July 30, and November 19 to discover how smart manufacturing and high-performance computing can enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and drive sustainable growth for your business.
About CT SMARTE
The CT SMARTE (Smart Manufacturing Assessment & Access to Reduce Technology Emissions) program helps Connecticut’s small- to medium-sized manufacturers (SMMs) lower energy costs and emissions by implementing smart manufacturing and high-performance computing technologies. This initiative also provides the resources needed to support technology adoption.
CT SMARTE is funded by the Department of Energy and the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, with program support from the University of Connecticut, CONNSTEP, and CCAT.
